Asking to be laid off?
For 6 months now I've been a receptionist/ assistant at a nail spa and due to the slow months the actions have told the owner to lay me of completely but instead she has me working part-time. I live an hour away so I'll just work to put gas in my car. Can I ask to be laid off and b able to collect unemployment. I do have another job lined up but it doesn't start for two months.
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoBest Dog Cage for a pitbull?
I have a lot of experience with pitbulls but with this new "puppy" I rescued I am completely stumped. My other dogs have been able to get out of their metal cages and we have solved it by placing a padlock on a corner of the cage and that usually solves the problem. After awhile they learn they can't get out and we are then able to take the lock off. This new puppy who has no previous training at all needs three locks on his cage, we bought a new cage for him thinking that maybe the other one was just bent enough that he could always get out. Even though we have had him for about a month he still whines and barks for at least an hour when we put him in his cage. I have wondering if anyone knows of any cages that a pitbull can't break through. This dog is going to be neutered in about three days, and I was also wondering if anyone knows if we would see a difference with his cage behavior.
8 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow to stop my dog from humping?
My one dog that I just rescued is getting neutered next week but he constantly humps my female (who's been spade). I tell him no and he stops for a couple minutes been then goes right back at it. I've tried taking him out for a run or on rollerblades to try and get him tired but it seems like nothing is working. Please help so I don't have to deal with this another week.
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat could cause my dogs bumps?
I let my dog outside in the backyard for the night and when I let him in, about an hour later, he had these dime sized raised bumps all on his back and hind legs. He was out with his buddy (my female pitbull) and I know they play a little rough and sometimes he gets a single bump where she might have bitten him a little too hard but NEVER this many. I was wondering if it could be bug bites but the fogger company just sprayed our whole neighborhood yesterday. My two other dogs do not have any bumps at all. I know he doesn't have allergies cause I've had him since he was a puppy. I was thinking about giving him bendryl but just don't know what to do.
1 AnswerDogs1 decade agoHow to clean Carbonite Water Pipes?
I purchased a Phire Carbonite Water Pipe (for tobacco use) and the sticker that it came with said to clean the detachable Charcoal piece by passing rubbing alcohol through it. I did this and now when I suck through it, it seems like it was more clogged then before. I've left it to dry for about two hours and it's still the same thing. Does anyone know exactly how to clean the Charcoal piece because it also says not to get the Charcoal piece wet, but by passing rubbing alcohol through it wouldn't it be getting wet?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow do you prevent plants from going to shock?
I just transplanted my plants into a bigger container and I know there is a good chance that they will go into shock. I was wondering if there is anyway to prevent this. I have read to not give them light for the first 6 hours after transplanting then gradually turning the light on. Then I read to make sure that they are watered a lot. I was just wondering is these things are true and if there is any product that I can get to make sure that they don't go into shock.
5 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoWhere can I buy a bra that fits me right?
I'm 5'7" and thing but stuck with these huge boobs. I'm already wearing the DD from victoria's secret but the problem is everytime I bend over my boob is hanging out and I have to readjust. I just want to know if there's a better place, or a place where I can get them custom fit because I have never been able to find a bra that actually fit me. And please I'm not wanting dirty answers, it's more of a curse than a blessing.
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories1 decade agoI have a very sick snake, any point taking him to the vet?
I just rescued a snake two days ago from a house that wasn't taking very good care of him, and he was very stubborn when it came to eating. He hasn't been feed for awhile. I don't really know how long but he hasn't eaten anything this winter, from what the owner told me. It seems maybe longer though. He is very little compared to my other 5 ft ball python, and by little I mean skinny. When you hold him you can feel his ribs and his spine protruding. He also has scale rot which I am treating now with a disinfecting wash and antibiotic ointment (recommended by my vet). I have been trying to get him to eat but he just won't budge. I know ball pythons do this but I feel like he is on the verge of life and death. I tried frozen, nothing, and when I tried live I tried a little smaller just to make sure he can eat it, and he actually did strike it and killed it but now won't eat it, just keep it in his mouth. I put a towel over the front, I know some snakes won't eat with people right there. His spurs have fallen off to, I have never seen that happen to a snake. I love animals and I want to see him live, but how long is to long. I know he is in bad shape and if he doesn't eat he can't last that much longer. If I take him to the vet can they euthanize him, or should I just let him die in peace in a cage?
5 AnswersReptiles1 decade agoHow to treat snake wounds?
One of my ball pythons wasn't eating this winter, which really didn't concern me because my other ball python did the same thing last winter. I just had him out yesterday and he was fine, and I go to change the water today and there is like a quarter sized spot where there are no scales. It kinda looks like he was bite my a rat but that's impossible because I only feed them frozen. I don't know if he could have scratched them off rubbing along the logs I have in there but I have no idea where this came from. I have read that you can treat wound like this with peroxide but I was just wondering how true that was, and what else (other than going to the vet) could I do before I go to the vet.
7 AnswersReptiles1 decade agoWhat are durable toys for pitbulls?
I think I've tried every toy and only one has outlasted my pitbull. I give him bones now instead of toys cause within 5 min the toy is dead, and the bones only last a couple hours. The kong has been the only thing that has lasted but I want to get him more than one toy. I've tried ropes, tennis balls, rubber toys, stuffed toys (just about everything)
14 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat is the treatment or a open wound on a dog?
It isn't a serious or deep wound. Earlier in the week my dogs were fighting and my puppy got scratched behind his ear, well he kept on itching it and now its about the size of a dime. He just scratched the scab off today so its open. I put some hydrogen peroxide and antibacterial ointment. The I wrapped it with gauze loosely around his neck. No idea if what I did helped need some advise.
5 AnswersDogs1 decade agoDog won't stop bleeding?
I found a dog walking down a very busy road one night (I thought he was a wolf). Anyways he cut his lip today chewing on a bone and now it won't stop bleeding. I've tried jelly and applying pressure but its still bleeding. The closest emergency vet is an hour away (I live kinda in the country). It would stop for a little bit but its right by his upper incisor so whenever he opens his mouth it starts to bleed again. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to get him to relax for a half an hour or to help him stop bleeding.
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow do you get snake bedding out of the snakes mouth while its shedding and stikes at you?

I know from previous experience with him that you can't mess with him when hes shedding, he gets very defensive. I know how to take the bedding out it's just the process of getting him out of the cage and being able ot grab his neck without being struck at. Please Help
4 AnswersReptiles1 decade agoWhy is my dog lickng the air and drooling?
When I came home from work today my dog was licking the air (like he does before he throws up) and drooling. He hasn't thrown up or anything and that's why I'm asking whats wrong with him. He also has been farting and burping alot. Iv read about bloat in dogs online and the only thing is is that he's not in pain, I can push on his stomach and it doesn't bother him. He's walking around fine and the licking is getting better but I was just wondering I there was anyone that know if this is just him being nausiated or if I need to take him to the emergency vet. I don't have money right now to take hIm to the vet so that's why I'm asking. Please help I'm very worried
