GH: Rebecca Herbst leaving in the spring?

One word explains how I feel. PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMFG I could knock the **** out of those people how dare they get rid of the best female actress who ever came to that show. Dumb *******

I am really annoyed at this. GH is incredibly stupid and foolish for letting go of such a classy and talented actress. While I do believe the writers have not done anything fair or justified with Liz's character since the Liason split, she is still an integral part of the show. This didn't just happen because of money because they have kept other newbies on contract and keep repeatedly bringing in people like Franco and Jerry Jax. Money is not the issue and the storyline direction BS!!! The writers suck and all they want to focus on is the same old bunch of moncentric or mob-tied idiots like Carly, Jason and Sonny.

I can't believe the writers are making such a stupid move. Rebecca Herbst is one of the best actresses on the show even though she hasn't had much of a storyline lately. Claire and Sonny are awkward. Kate is hardly on, but a nuisance at best. Lisa and her smirk with a way too long and drawn out storyline is worst of all. She and Dr. Jackson are a waste of time. I was hoping for Rebecca to get more of a storyline. Are the writers new or losing touch with what the viewers want? Now, I guess Jason, Nicholas and Lucky get full custody of their sons!? If they are making budget cuts, they may be firing Rebecca to make room for some for the not so desirable newcomers. In the business world, seasoned executives are let go because they are making too much and they can hire someone for less or more people for the same or less income than the seasoned employee was making. Is there some way we can protest?

I don't know what the heck GH is doing! They fire Rebecca but are keeping characters like Sioban, Brooklynn, Claire and Lisa around. That's not right! I know this is rude to say but it's totally screaming out. The powers that be really want to push the JaSam baby story and the couple and the only way for them to do so is to remove the threat being Elizabeth and the Liason fanbases. Steve Burton mentioned a huge controversy coming up that would affect both the JaSam and Liason fans stating that some would be happy and others well would not. My guess is that things will only be getting worse especially if any of the current rumors circulating come to fruition.

The charcter of Liz has been thrown under the bus over and over again and it's really disappointing to see a true General Hospital vet be let go. I mean all the vets get a bad deal but who's next Kimberly McCullogh?

That sucks big time, I mean even people who aren't fans of the character Liz still love and respect Rebecca Herbst as an actress so that sucks. They shouldn't have fired her, I get giving the character a break for a bit until they think of something to do with her but to fire her was a bit extreme and a mistake on GH's part especially when you have all these secondary characters like Lisa, Terrell, etc. on the show that really doesn't need to be there.

I too was shocked and livid that they let her go. I think it's an injustice. I see her as a legacy character who has strong ties to the show and a lot of history and her character has plenty more story to tell, but they have put her on the backburner for whatever reason it is. I think that in the past couple of months, they have mistreated her character and pretty much destroyed it which is a shame because it's far from what her character was. I was really hoping for a Liz and Lucky reunion and they hinted at it and I'm am extremely disappointed in the writers and in the producers to have done this.

I'm with Jen...livid doesn't even begin to explain how I feel about this! There has been nothing but ugly rumors around and this one I didn't expect. It makes me wonder now, just how far are the people in charge at ABC/GH willing to go before they realize too late just how messed up the show is.

I can't believe they are letting her go. They finally get JJ back as Lucky and instead of playing on the chemistry and history between the 2 of them, they're going to let her go and miss out on, what could have been, a really great reunion somewhere down the line? And they put Sibbohan on contract instead, who has no real ties to PC, while Liz has been on since she was a teenager? She has ties to practically every major character on the show! That's so stupid! Just like it was dumb to kill off most of the Quartermaines (especially Alan) and bring on stupid newbies that no one cares about like Lisa and Terrell but sending of Monica Quartermaine and Bobby Spencer to who who knows where. This really bites! I wanted JJ's Lucky and Liz to get back together. I wanted to see how Lucky/Liz/Nic would react when the Aiden reveal finally happened. I was hoping for some serious Cassadine/Spencer drama. And now, she's kicked off the show? So dumb.

I'm still so shocked and angry. She might not have much of a s/l right now but she's an important character with lots of history. Rebecca was treated so unfairly. You'd think that after they killed off Alan and had to bring him back as a ghost that they would've learned to show a little more respect for the long-time actors and characters. Guess not.

I don't like the direction GH is heading. It's all about Sonny and the mob, they fired RH and gave Sioban a contract, new characters are becoming annoying, their storylines have been pretty sucky.....

You know, I'm really upset that she's leaving. If they are getting rid of long time characters and filling the place with new ones I might stop watching. It's the long time characters that got me hooked in the first place.

I can't say I'm shocked. I haven't watched the show in forever. The writers were just awful to the character of Elizabeth. They never gave the Jason/Liz storyline a chance. Liz and Nic would have been really interesting--a least it would have generated some heat in this cold sterile show!. The writers just kept watering her character down by constantly having her get pregnant. The Sam character got to be all tough and dangerously sexy. Emily was the romantic princess. Elizabeth got to be a doormat for Lucky, Jason,Nic and so on! I've said it for two years, shame on the writers for ruining this show for old faithful viewers. We no longer recognize you!
