How do I go about searching for a "deal" on airfare? Everything I find seems to be a marketing scheme....?

I'm looking for 2 round trip tickets from Fargo (ND), St. Cloud or MPLS (MN) to anywhere for a Sunday to Monday/Tuesday getaway over Valentines Day weekend. I've heard of people finding deals for $50 round trip deals and yet I have no idea how to find one! Can anyone help? Thanks

I did a search that compared expedia, cheap tickets, hotwire and a fee others and ended up finding the ticket for the same price on US air website AND I got to pick my seats. Unless you have Spirit, Southwest or Allegiance in your area you probably can't find one that cheap.

Try going straight to the Airline site, I have found that by doing that, I have found better prices, the other site is Expedia.com, sometimes you can get pretty good deals.
