Who is your vote for the Calder?
Jeff Skinner has put up almost a point per game average, have 39 points in 47 games which is quite astounding for a rookie
Logan Couture on the other hand has 20 goals, on a team that homes the likes of Marleau, Heatly, Pavelski and Thornton
Taylor Hall came into the draft high and mighty, and despite being held so far to only 27 points, one has to take into account the serious lack of skill surrounding him
Cam Fowler has had an amazing run with anaheim so far, boosting their D incredibly and also providing help from the point with 24 points, compare that with the fact that he missed a few games early on and compared to Taylor Hall and you'll see how impressive that is
My Vote goes to Skinner, but what are your thoughts? Feel free to add candidates (although I'm sure that you wouldn't have anyway) as I know I left some other rookies out

Completely unrealistic but someone who hasn't gotten enough attention is Brad Marchand. He started the year as a fourth line grinder but has worked his way to the First/Second Line playing with Patrice Bergeron and Mark Recchi. He contributes offensively (10-10-20), kills penalties, tied for the NHL lead with 3 SHG, best rookie +/- at +17. He won't get any votes but as far as rookies who make everyone on they're team better he's a good one.
Realistically, Jeff Skinner's gonna win it hands down. Coming into the leauge at 18 and puting up the numbers he has with no NHL experience is what will put him over Couture.

Bobrovsky was COMPLETELY unheard of if you are going to go with the no NHL experience route, considering he was in Russia just a few short months ago. I would put Couture ahead of him though for almost having to carry the struggling Sharks and winning the head to head with Bobrovsky with a goal and a shootout goal in the comeback win against Bob and the flyers, but both are adequate players who could EASILY win the Calder, but the national attention for whatever reason as well has been putting Couture in the number one slot. With a few national blogs and the "blackberry all access show" on nhl.com having put Couture in the #1 spot for awhile.

My vote goes to Skinner. Couture played 25 games last year and all of the playoffs. He just barely qualifies as a rookie this year.

Logan Couture FTW! However, Bobrovsky (probably spelled wrong) has played great this year and could get it depending on how far he carries the Flyers this season. Skinner's pretty good, too.

Logan Couture he has been the one bright spot for the sharks not many bright spots this year since they may not make the playoffs If they don't work together and win games.
This Is of Individual merit give It to Couture.

Logan Couture gets my vote. But you can't go wrong with Skinner either. Both of them have been red hot all season.
