Would you agree the NFC North is the best division in the NFL?

Over the past 5 years, 5 of the 10 representatives in the NFC Championship Game will have come from the NFC North. That is half, and much better than the NFC East (2), NFC South (2) and NFC West (1).

2010- Packers, Bears

2009- Vikings

2007- Packers

2006- Bears

How about this for a statistic. Here are the records the NFC North holds against the other NFC Divisions in the 2010 Regular Season:

NFC South: 2-2

NFC East: 9-7

NFC West: 3-1

With the playoffs, you can add to that:

NFC South: 3-2

NFC East: 10-7

NFC West: 4-1

So clearly the NFC North outplayed the rest of the league. Next year, the Vikings will likely remain as the cellar dwellers, but the Lions appear ready to compete for the division crown. They need a LB and CB and will probably be competing with the Packers for the division crown along with some competition from the Bears in 2011. What are your thoughts on this with the stats clearly being in favor of the NFC North?

Update:

If you don't agree, please explain why. I put the records in, clearly indicating this divisions success. The AFC South has a monopoly going with the Colts. The AFC East has the Jets and Pats, who are certainly big time teams. However, the NFC North out won the AFC East. The NFC South is certainly in contention, but if they are better, why did the NFC North out play them this year?

I watch all my games online. I can watch every game in the Regular Season and the NFL Network.

Yes they are definately the best division, and if the Vikings can find a franchise quarterback it will remain that way for years to come. Besides the Vikings the north division's quarterbacks are goood and young. I predict the NFC north taking at least one of the Wild card positions every year for the next 5 years at least.

In those 10 years no team from the NFC North has won a Super Bowl. So it seems your stats dont mean much. the AFC North and AFC East on the other hand have won. That is the point of football and you cant claim to be the best division if you cant even win it all

I wouldn't say they are the best 4 teams talent wise, but they know how to win when it counts. In the Playoffs, NFC North teams always seem to do well, which is why you see two remaining in the NFC Championship game. Unfortunately, only two will have gone to the Super Bowl after sunday (in the last 10 years), but the teams that have made the playoffs have a good playoff record.

I think they are the best division next to the AFC East. The NFC North are great. They always bring their A game in every single game.

No Clay, the Lions are unproven...they haven't reached .500 yet...Stafford will be going into his 3rd year. Rodgers will be in his 7th year, 4th year as a starter.

It would be a fairly big shock if both the Bears and Packers don't make the post season next year...the Lions would have to win games in Green Bay and Chicago as well as beating the Packers and Bears at home...that's a big ask.

The NFC South is going to be up for grabs..Falcons, Saints, Bucs all capable.

EDIT..no Clay, your stats don't prove your point...you have to factor in whether those games were home or away....

I love the Packers and Vikings but the only reason their division isn't really the best is because they don't really all do great the same year. It is never really a fight to the finish between 2 or more teams in the division. BUT out of supremacy I would say YES!

The Packers are good. But the Bears are only where they are because they had an easy schedule, and played the Seahawks in the division round... you can't get easier than that.

The other 2 teams are abysmal, although the Lions are up and coming.

I think they are. They have a good future with the Pack and Detroit being young and talented teams. Bears are usually average with a surpringly good season here and there. Vikings just plain suck though! Ha! Go Pack Go!
