Why does my wireless internet connection shut down when my phone rings?

I have a a desktop computer with a Belkin wireless internet connection. I also have a land line with comcast. My internet connection is interrupted every time my phone (land line ) rings. As soon as we hang up the phone it reconnects.

    You have DSL, and the phone line is not properly filtered. When the phone rings, one of the ringers interferes with your DSL connection. If you have a DSL connection that uses filters at each phone, every device connected to the phone line (other than your DSL modem) *must* have a filter. This includes answering machines, FAX machines, alarms systems, and the like
