Is it odd that we have a president that admitted drug use that disqualifies civilians from security clearance?

A wee bit odd?

An interim clearance may be denied (although the final clearance may still be granted) for having a large amount of debt, for having admitted to seeing a doctor for a mental health condition, or for having admitted to other items of security concern (such as a criminal record or a history of drug use.)

Times have changed. Past drug use no longer disqualifies civilians for security clearances, however it is best to not have any history of drug use.

You are just expected to come forward and tell them all the drugs you have done.

Obama was a teenager when he used drugs, but Bush was in his forties. If we can forgive Bush and give him a second chance then we shouldn't have much trouble giving Obama the same consideration.

Don't forget about the fact that he was not born on American soil and was not eligible to even run for president? Instead of providing his birth certificate he had the court squash the request, why?
