Too old for medical school?

I'm 31 years old and I start nursing school tomorrow (YAY!) but lately I've been thinking if maybe I should just go all the way in a couple of years or so and go to medical school to start the long process of becoming a doctor. By then I'd be, oh, 33-34 years old and I know that it takes a total of at least 10 YEARS to become a doctor because of all the years of schooling. I'd be in my early 40's by the time I'd graduate. My question is, would I be too old to go into medical school in my early 30's? And is my early 40's too old to be a new doctor? Just want a little insight. :)

Update:

Thanks for your answers and encouragement! And you're right Maria, 31 is still relatively young but it's easy to forget that, in a youth-obsessed society that practically still considers you "Old" after you hit 30.

Nothing is ever too late if you still have time, faith and believe that you can do it. If you want to be a doctor, go ahead and do it rather than spending the last few years of your life wondering why didn't you just go ahead with the medical school when you can. I would support you for wanting to be a doctor, you're not too old for it. Please, you're only 31.

No cadaver is only too old for medical college. they choose all they could get. Oh wait, you want to earnings at med college. No, i do not imagine you're too old. some human beings actual like having an older physician, because they experience sensible that they are coping with someone more desirable experienced (for sure, they gained't be the wiser that you're nevertheless particularly clean, lol).

    I agree with Michael Jones!

It's never too late to follow your dreams. Don't reach the end of your life and say 'If only...."

As a mature doctor, you will have a lot of life experience to bring to your work - and probably a lot more common sense than someone who's only just out of school.

    Good luck!

It's never too late - people are living longer and you'd have at least 20 years of practice ahead of you. Why not.
