I no longer have those little tabs at the top of my screen for edit, tools, file etc. How can I get them back?

Update:

Andrew, thank you so much. It worked! I am so computer illiterate and I thought I'd never get these options back again. I did exactly what you said, and right away, up came all those options. As soon as I can choose BA, you've got it! Thanks again. Janet

Update 2:

You all are so helpful. Game Day -- I tried F11 and that worked too, although I already had those options on my screen. But they disappeared and came back again when I hit F11 again. I am actually having fun -- didn't know any of this about my computer. Thanks to all!

If its for the browser, right click near where you type the website name and click "Menu Bar"

If you mean in Firefox or Internet Explorer, if pressing F11 doesn't work, do this:

    1. Press ALT/V, then T.

    2. Select Menu bar.

If you mean in Word 2003 or earlier, you may be in Full Screen Mode. Try pressing ESC. If that doesn't work,

    1. Press ALT/V followed by T. A menu will pop up.

    2. Select Customize at the bottom.

    3. Click the Toolbars tab.

    4. Select the “Menu Bar” item in the list box.

    5. Click the Reset button.

    6. Click OK for the verification dialog box.

    7. Click Close.

    Hope that helps.
