Could it be because you've dyed your hair so much that it will not take in any color? For me... I want a really nice light brown with highlights but I never get what I want instead I'd get ugly black or really dark brown against yellow orange highlights... now I'm really blonde ... sigh.. one of the hair dressers said it was because I dyed my hair too many times different colors and each time I do it the hair won't hold the color...which is why it eventually fades out to its original dye color.

first of all make sure you have PERMANENT hair dye. anything other than permanent will wash out. if youre using permanent make sure theres nothing in your hair or go to a salon and have a proffesional dye it.
