When can I begin to apply for a Pell grant?
I have a submitted my FAFSA, and got an EFC result of 0 (my mom is a sinlge parent) which qualifies me for maximum on grants and loans. I applied to 5 universities and I have already been accepted to my number one choice. I am still waiting on atleast a couple more school before I make a final decision on which school to attend.
Anyway, my question is
Can I begin to apply for Pell Grants even though I am not enrolled in a school yet? ( I just want to have a better idea of how much money I will have so I can consider it when making my decision) Should I wait for what my school/s has to offer?
Overall, I'm just confused with this whole federal aid thing. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

You have already applied for a pell grant. The FAFSA is the application for the pell grant (among other things). Your EFC of zero means that you'll get the full pell grant of $5550/year. Your schools may offer you other aid though so you should wait to make your final decisions.

By filling out the FAFSA you have already applied for a Pell Grant. Once you decide which college you will attend and finalize your enrollment, set up an appointment or stop by the university's financial aid office. They will work through the rest of the necessary paperwork with you.
