my old computer had 2 hardrives with an athlon xp cpu motherboard. The same thing happend to me and I ran dos bootable recovery software and the first partitions drive c became innacessible on both drives.. Best thing is remove hardrive and use another computer to copy all your important files over from your old harddrive. ur hard drive is gone or in otherwords everything u had on there that wasn't backed up is now gone. if the laptop was over a year old i recommend getting a new one and scrapping this one, but if its new u can get a new hard drive for alot of money. wouldn't hurt to take it in though.

Hard disk error could be several things. The most common is a hard drive failure (replace the hard drive and operating system).

check the cable connections to the hard disk

If they are OK then you need to buy a new hard disk
