How would you use a 2 line phone as an intercom?

I have a two line phone in my office. I use one line for a normal phone line, but I would like to use my second line as an intercom to call other phones in my house. Can this be done?

Thanks.

Not easily. Panasonic makes 2-line phones that have intercoms and you could grab an inexpensive phone system to do the intercom. Your problem is that in residential, most times the wiring is just one or two pairs and an intercom using a phone system need a single pair to EACH phone.

Anyway, used Panasonic KSU's show up on Ebay for as little as $100. The intercom is easy, signalling between the sets is going to be the problem.
