New room, help me design it?

Question

So we found a house and are going to make an offer sometime this week. The people i am living with said I could do my room however I wanted it. i need help!!! I am 19, and want my room to be purple and green.. 

Is this comforter too childish / teenagerish? I want something fun and crazy but also something sophisticated and modern. I am 19, so I want something I will still like next year. lol The thing i like about this one is that it can reverse to just purple. Or can you post something i might like even better? I am a college student, so I have a tight budget! (i already have purple, pink, green, and blue sheets, that why I would just go with a comforter)

Also, i get to paint my room. Any design ideas? I want to incorporate both purple and bright green, but I don't want to overdo it. I would really like purple with green accents. Help please!!!!!!!

If none of this sounds sophisticated and modern, could you suggest another scheme? I hate red!

Oh, my, that really is fun and crazy!  Ah, to be young again...

Let me think, if I was a 19 year old girl...I'd love it!  I don't think it's too childish at all!

Based on the colors of the comforter, I wouldn't use two paint colors on the wall.  I would just stick with the purple, and maybe use two different shades of it.  The style is called monochromatic - using shades of the same color.  That's what I would do!

If, when you get a bit older and haven't grown out of the fun and crazy color phase, and can afford it, take a look at a company called Mackenzie Childs.  They have eclectic furniture and stuff that would be right up your ally!

Oh, and use Benjamin Moore paints...they're reasonably priced and in my opinion cover walls the best.  Good luck!

I honestly do not know why but I enjoy shopping at walmart, I usually do price reviews and 99% of the time walmart has lower prices. And also the most significant plus is they offered me a absolutely free $1000 giftcard! Great!
