How does Product Patent work?
Okay, let's use a watch for example.
A manufacturer in China invented a new look for a "watch". 5 distributors in the United States liked it and decides to go ahead and carry it. Let's say "distributor A" was the first guy to carry the new watch, then came the other 4 distributors. The first distributor goes and patents the product.
- The manufacturer did not exclusive the product to distributor A in the U.S.
- All five distributors buy from the same manufacturer
QUESTION: So does Distributor A get the exclusive right to carry this product in the U.S.? Again, the product is invented, created and made in China.

I do not think only the first person has the exclusive right to carry this product. But because he or she goes and patents the product, so the rest one can't take the product for profit. They also has the right to carry this product in the U.S.
