I'm getting glasses and I have a few questions?
The ones I picked out don't have the nose pads. Will they stay on as well if I had nose pads? Or will they fall off? I'm a little nervous that they will fall off. The doctor says I have to wear them most of the time so will they fall off?
and my final question is...
I'm far sighted so I can see things close up, like books, my ipod, computer, tv to a point, and things like that, but the problem is driving and seeing things far away. He said I should wear them for most of the time becuase I'm only using one eye for close up and one for far away, do you think it'd be okay if I didn't wear them all the time? I don't think I need to.
HAHA oh yeah no sorry yeah that was my bad. I was tired when I worte this. i am nearsighted.

I just got glasses last Friday without the nose-pads and they stay on perfectly. :) Plus, you can buy nose-pads for them if you want. :) No, they do not fall off and I don't think you'll need to wear them all the time because I don't. The only thing I would say is, if you're not going to wear them, make sure you keep them with you. :)

First off - If you can see things close without your glasses but things far away are blurry, then you are "nearsighted", not farsighted.
Second - If you pick glasses without nosepads - (I'm assuming they are plastic), then make sure you test them in the "as worn" position. Put them on, wear them where you want and then try to move them back and forth horizontally on your nose. If they move back and forth, then they are not fitting you correctly (the bridge of the glasses is too big) and what will happen is that the entire weight of the frame and lenses will be directed at the top of your nose where the frame rests and this could cause problems by getting sore (and there will be no way to correct it, i.e. you can't make the bridge of the frame smaller and you can't make your nose larger).
If the frame is metal, then, the entire weight will be on the top of your bridge no matter what you do and that is why those kind of frames are rarely used anymore.
The only place to hold up the frame will be behind your ears. Make absolutely sure that the optician who adjusts the frame does not make it too tight or too loose behind your ear. Too tight and you get sore behind your ear, too loose and the frame falls down your nose.
Well, ok. If you are using one eye for near and one for far away, then you are both near sighted and far sighted. (that can happen). If the doctor says wear them while driving - then wear them while driving. If he says wear them most of the time then wear them most of the time. He's the Doctor and he knows what he is talking about.
If you're not wearing your glasses and you're driving and things are blurry in your distance, let me know in advance because I want to stay away from you on the road.

Forgive me if I sound snobby, but you are actually nearsighted. Farsighted is when you can see things that are far but not near, and nearsighted is when you can see things near but not far. I mean no offense, I just wanted to correct you on that one. I work in a doctor's office and we have an ophthalmologist and an optometrist here.
For things like reading or working on your computer, you really don't need to wear your glasses, but if you are watching TV or driving, definitely wear them. Actually, wearing them all the time may be beneficial to you because if you have to squint to see something, your eyes will become strained and they will start to hurt and and you can even develop a headache, but it's ultimately your choice. If you're not wearing them all the time and experience eye strain or headaches, it would be best to keep them on.
I hope my advice helps!

If your supposed to wear glasses all the time and you don't it can actually make your vision worse, so then later on when you honestly have to wear glasses they'll be the thick coke bottle ones.
