What is the UK equivalent to the Japanese senior diploma?

I've tried to google it but i can't seem to find the UK equivalent there's loads of pages on the USA equivalent. but thats just confusing the matter.

please someone, help me!

    What I understand from diplomas in Japan is that there are 2 meanings. 1 is 'certificate of graduation' that's issued at any education level. So by senior (assuming you mean senior high), the certificate of graduation will enable the student to go into university and the equivalent in the UK would be A-levels. But the UK has another qualification that you can take instead of A-levels before going into university, which is the BTEC diploma.

    The other meaning of diploma would be exactly UK's BTEC diploma as the Japanese diploma in this sense would only be awarded to students under a vocational school, which is what BTEC diplomas are about.
