Statistics - Finding the probability from these odds?

If odds against a horse winning are 12 to 1. What is the probability of the horse winning?

How do you convert Odds to probability?

Any help appreciated.

    If p is the probability of an event, the odds against the event are

    o = (1 - p)/p

    12/1 = (1 - p)/p

    12p = 1 - p

    13p = 1

    p = 1/13

    To convert from odds to a probability, divide the odds by one plus the odds.

    (1/12)/(13/12) = 1/13
