What are the 3 greatest moments of your football-watching career?

Meaning your 3 favorite football moments you've watched. Here's mine:

3. David Tyree's helmet catch and the following Plaxico Burress TD, just because of the sheer awesomeness of Tyree's play and the upset that Burress sealed with the TD.

2. The entire Saints/Vikings conference championship from last year, in the midst of all the Brett Favre hate. The Saints were struggling to get drives going, the Vikings put a lot of good drives together, but the Saints kept finding ways to stay in the game and eventually win it. It was the most intense and exciting game I've ever seen.

1. Nate Poole's last-second TD that helped the Cardinals beat the Vikings in 2003, which sent Green Bay to the playoffs. I remember being at a Christmas party watching the Packers winning what seemed to be a meaningless blowout while CBS kept giving updates on the MIN/ARI game. It was 17-6, then 17-12, then Arizona got the onside kick. And all of a sudden the final score pops up, 18-17. The room goes crazy, people are tearing up, I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

    3. Watching Adrian Peterson run crazy, and break the single game rushing record against the Chargers in his rookie season. It was a huge deal for a rookie to do this, especially since I am a huge Bears fan and I have to give AP his props. He put a scare in us that he may be the second coming of Eric Dickerson or "Beast Mode" Jamal Lewis.

    2. The David Tyree helmet catch was amazing, and I hate the Patriots so I was in heaven. They got beaten in the most embarrassing fashion, because they couldn't tackle Eli and Tyree made the finger tip catch into his helmet.

    1. Tennesse is stopped on the one yard line. This was amazing for the Rams to be one yard away from almost losing the Super Bowl. Kurt Warner also went into beast mode at the right time when he went to both of his Super Bowls.

One criticism first. The Vikes lost to the Saints in the NFC Championship game because of a stupid "Too many men on the field penalty." The now fired Coach was trying to confuse the Saints and sent extra players on the field. The penalty took the Vikes out of field goal range and sent the game to overtime.

    1. Somewhere in the 1970s Alan Page got mad against Detroit and made five straight tackles. The only thing that stopped him was the half ended. He won Most Valuable player that year.

    2. Somewhere in the 80s the 49ers were looking unbeatable in the playoffs. This team was better than their Super Bowl winners. Then Anthony Carter caught two bombs, the second one sealed the game and the underdog Vikes went on to the NFC Championship game. In my opinion this was the greatest 49er team of all time. They were destroying everyone they played.

    3. In 1985 Anthony Carter scored on a slant pass down the middle of the field to basically beat the Bears. This Bears team went on to be considered the greatest team in NFL history. Two-Minute Tommy Kramer threw that pass.

    1. John Riggins touchdown run in Super Bowl XVII. I'll never forget the Diesel coming around the corner and swatting Don McNeal aside like annoying little gnat.

    2. Timmy Smith

    3. The Redskins fans chanting "We Want Dallas" and shaking the stands at RFK, looking forward to facing (and beating) the Cowboys in the 1982 NFC Championship game.

(Yes, the Redskins are long overdue for creating some new good memories)

Honorable mention/something non-Redskins: the crazy play where the Saints had about eight laterals and scored a dramatic last second touchdown. And then the kicker missed the PAT. (John Carney I think)

Being older than most of the people on this site some of mine go way back.

    1. Oakland Raiders winning their 1st Super Bowl in 1977 32-14 over Minnesota

    2. Alabama wins National Title over MIami 32-13 in 1993 Sugar Bowl. This was my first experience with a Natl Title as an Alabama fan.

    3. Oakland Raiders win AFC title vs Titans in 2002 (and yes I know they got killed in the SB but it was the first time back in the big game since 1983).

Source(s): Raiders fan for 36 years. Alabama fan for 26 years.

    1. When Randy White of the Cowboys got tired of cheap shots by an Eagle lineman, ripped the Eagle's helmet off and started beating him with it! It was the 80's and White didn't even get kicked out of the game!

    2. Roger Staubach's numerous big-game comebacks.

    3. Favre/Packers win Super Bowl

Source(s): I thought you said NFL. My real favorite was when OU beat Texas 65-13 in 2003. And when OU shut out the 'unstoppable' Florida State offense for the 200- National Championship.
