People should websites more carefully.
Many people jump into things on the Internet without a thought, almost like someone happily signing a credit agreement without bothering to read through it
More than half of Internet "victims" only have themselves to blame. Several posts on this site have accused other sites of being scams - only because the complainer didn't bother to read the Terms and Condition on the site before registering

You have to weigh it against all the benefits, conveniences, and knowledge we have gained from the Internet. I would say what we gain still far outweighs all the negativity that comes with it. It cannot be fixed because it's just a reflection of society. We have always had crime in society, so we will have it in cyber society, as well. All we can do is continue to adopt security measures as they develop to minimize exposure to scams.
