If God asked you to kill your own child, would you?
Disturbing question. It begs to be asked again and again.

I think that You are a little mixed up.
In the bible (old Testament) God ask Abrahaam to take his Son to mount
Moriah and there offer Him for a sacrafice. Read the bible.
Gen 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
Now this is Abrahams only Son & He knew that God would raise Him again.
It was a test to check Abrahams faith. This is the only case in the world.
NO! DO NOT KILL A CHILD!

God wouldn't ask anyone to do anything like that in these days of the "prophetic word made sure."
When he asked Abraham to do it, it was a special test for Abraham alone and makes sense within the full context of God's revealed word since it was also a picture of the coming Messiah.
In those days, God spoke to people because they didn't have a copy of the Bible at their fingertips. Now that everyone has the "prophetic word made sure," that is the standard to go by when judging things. So if one heard "god" tell them to kill their own child, they could go to the Bible, see that can't be and know "god" was not speaking to them. I suppose it could be distrubing in that they would realize should probably seek medical help.

From where I am, knowing there is no such thing as god, I cannot give an answer. But I couldn't do that anyway, no matter who asked me to. And the Biblical story of Abraham heaps praise on him for being willing to do that. I say that is crap, because if you believe in the kind of god that people generally DO believe in (loving and caring and forgiving and merciful) he would be incapable of asking something like that.

God would never ask us to do that. The Old Testament was for 'then'. We live 'now'. On the one occasion that God did ask that it was a test and for a reason.
The only people who ask this question over and over again are those who do not believe the bible or they read some of it but with no understanding.

God cannot violate His character can He?
The story of Abraham and Issac related to the Gospel, Jesus' sacrificial death. The LORD abhors human sacrifice.
