My sister and her boyfriend are domestic partners...Does this make him my brother-in-law ?

Must they actually be married for him to be my brother-in-law ? They have been together over 18 years ! Serious responses only

Where I live, they would be considered "common-law" husband & wife, which would make the BF your brother-in-law.

Technically, he's not your brother in law until they get married.
