Try to get a price per hour that reflects the talent and the time needed.

There are many that say that 'my daughter could do that; and get stuck with their daughters drawing, with the price too low.

And it depends on how experienced you need the designer to be. There are many artists looking to get their first job who will work cheep. You will likely have to guide them at each step, and they may leave you unexpectedly and/or not meet deadlines.

For a pro, you likely should prepare to pay pro prices.

    The rest is negotiation.

I would expect that for $70K you should be able to hire a pro or semi-pro for about a year,

a somewhat experienced person for maybe 2 years.

So as I said, it depends on how long the project would take, and also how the negotiations go.

If you are hiring a team, it will get that expensive.

    Screams from the designers:

If you make changes all the time, if the designer and you do not detail out a vision and agree on it, if the designer thinks you want a black white or some impossible thing, you will take a long time to complete the work, and the work will cost much more.
