go to ahrn.com which is a listing site by the DoD -

    militarybyowner.com

of course craigslist, if you want to know about apartment areas look at apartmentratings.com

    PCS calendar: (really good)

    www.militaryhomefront.dod.mil

    www.militaryinstallations.dod.mil (with standard info)

if you want to know about PCSing:

    militarydutystations-blog.com

militarydutystations.com (feel free to add some info about where you are now)

    join Fb community facebook.com/militarydutystations

there are many more places to go, but this is probably a good start.

    hope this helped

Craigslist sucks for reputable rentals. For military real estate try www.ahrn.com - this is the Automated Housing Referral Network and is specifically catered to military. Another good site is www.remilitary.com. Also, DO NOT sign a lease for a house or pay a deposit before you do a walk through. Military members are required to go to the housing office on post BEFORE signing a lease and besides that signing for a house sight unseen is an extremely unwise move - there could be a lot of issues with the place and then you are stuck. Not sure about the Army but the Air Force offers a 10 day permissive TDY for house hunting once you arrive at you new location. I'd advise contacting the housing office at Ft. Carson so that can send you a list of rentals and billeting to reserve temporary furnished housing while you look for your house. If you want to check out housing available on post go to www.armyonesource.com - they have floor plans for all Army installations.
