What is jailbreak? When and why would someone need to jailbreak and iPhone? I keep hearing about it but I haven't found any comprehensible information on it, only how to do it.

jailbraking is hacking your iphone in order to be able to get free apps on it
yea the warranty is gone when u jailbreak it !

Jailbreaking an iPhone allows you to get a bunch of apps and what not for free, but this voids its warranty.
