88 GMC 2500 4x4 Wheel Problem.?

When driving down the road on smooth pavement my drivers side front wheel seems like it's hitting bumps at 30mph. I'm rather suspicious it might be a broken belt inside the tire, but I didn't see any deformities on the tire. Is there anything else I should look for before taking it to the shop. Any help would be appreciated.

Seems like tire to me also. That should still have an old school solid front axle, hopefully a genuine dana. The GM made one was fine just harder to find parts for. For them to make noise or cause vibrations they had to be worn to the point of breaking so it will be quite obvious if you jack it up and give the tire(s) a wiggle. I would start by jacking the front up and giving a wiggle. If you spin the tire and run your hand over it and just visually inspect it you may see or feel the problem. If that all looks good then try swapping tires side to side or front to back and see if the vibration moves.
