i suffer from claudication. but haven't got any heart problems?

i take 75mg aspirin and a 20mg simvastatin daily. in view of all the controversy about taking statin. i would like to replace the statin and replace with sterols and olive oil etc to keep my cholestrol down could anyone tell me if this is an ok thing to do.....Thanks

    If you have claudication then there is most likely atherosclerosis in your arteries, and although it may not cause you a big problem now it easily could.

    It is always a good idea to continue your medication unless you are experiencing intolerable side effects. But if you do have concerns you should discuss them with your doctor to see what they think.
