Have you ever thought about this?

For those of you who are old enough to remember - back in the day, waitresses had to wear hair-nets (don't know about the 'male' chefs). Why don't they nowadays? The chefs on tv don't wear them either. I wonder who decided there was no sanitary issue anymore, and why?

On televisions the chefs also put their finger in the food to taste it and then keep cooking...Gross! or they will use a spoon and put the spoon back into the food. shouldn't they be washing their hands more frequently or wearing gloves when handling other peoples food!?

if you watch the cooking channels, you will see a lot of unsanitary things. no one wears gloves or washes their hands, much less wearing a hair net. they will use the same spoon to taste a dish twice (double-dipping). not sure why, though it is a requirement with most companies for most waitresses to tie their hair back which eliminates the need for a hair net. it was never a legal requirement to wear a hair net just a corporate courtesy that was enforced by the corporations.

Good question! I'm glad they don't, though, because hairnets are so unappetizing looking. It makes me THINK about hair in my food.
