i have not filed my state taxes in 10 years?

i would have received money if i would have filed. should i file now?

    Depending on your state laws, it may be too late. If you delay too long filing a federal return, you lose everything except the last three years worth of refunds.

    Poke around your state's official Web site and see if you can find anything there about delinquent returns. With luck, your state won't be one of the ones that charges penalties for late returns.

    I am surprised your state has not been after you for the unfiled returns

    you certainly can file all the old returns you need to and if there are refunds due, you may get them and you may not

    with IRS the refunds from 2006 and earlier are lost forever as the 2007 if it is not filed by 4/15/11

    some states do not have limitations, some do, you will have to check your state
