Will the President of Egypt resign tonight? What do you project since no one knows?

The People want a Democratic Government like the Western Countries, and are Fighting

hard by protesting and using violence. I think at times people need to be aggressive

to get what they want!

I don't think he will resign until the Military leaders threaten to quash his police force (which wouldn't take much, the protesters overran them pretty easily) and arrest him if he doesn't negotiate a peaceful exile. I think the threat of what might happen to his family, including his son, would force his hand. Until that point, I think he'll stay put. Since the military's general attitude has been to keep the peace and stand in solidarity with the people, I don't think that will happen for a few more days, when it becomes clear to the military leaders that ElBaradei or other protest leaders are ready to have a responsible transition, Saudi Arabia or other nations agree to take in Mumbarak, and the military fears that maintaining relative non-violence is becoming impossible.

I would guess Friday, give or take.

I would also guess that the US will play an increasingly significant covert role, perhaps speaking to Saudi Arabia and, if they can, even to ElBaradei (who has had dealings with the US for years and even met Obama a little over a year ago at the UN), and possibly Egyptian military leaders. If nothing else, the US wants to prevent Iran from becoming influential in the region. They aren't influential now, but if the Muslim Brotherhood takes too much power, that could change.

You guys are Idiots. President Mubarak is a strong supporter of Israel and democracy. He is clearly the good guy!

The people/protestors are muslims. Hence they are terrorists. We should intervene and kill them all!!!
