Help with grade 9 french HW...?

"Puis j'aller boire de l'eau" is not correct. I assume it's "Puis-je aller boire de l'eau?" which mean "May i go get some water?" or "May i go drink some water?"

The second sentence: "Puis-je aller a mon casier?" must be the correct form and means "May i go to my locker?"

3rd: "J'ai oublié mon livre/cahier chez moi"

"I've forgotten my book/notebook at home"

The way to explain that for is the same as the English, instead of saying "i have forgotten ....." which is " je ai oublié .... we say "i've forgotten ..." "j'ai oublié". However, 'i've [forgotten]' is correct in english, but french we never say "je ai [oublié]". it's always "j'ai"

You've is t'as, you have=tu as both can be said and both are correct. he's= il a, he is=il a ... i can never be il'a as you can see.

when it come to "eau" it means water. the water= l'eau. in french "de l'eau" is used very often. "a l'eau" and " dans l'eau" are also used, but not as often as "de l'eau". i want some water" "je veux de l'eau". There is something in the water= il y a quelque chose dans l'eau. ... L'eau= La eau

"La" is feminine in French we say "Le cahier= the notebook" for example. "Le" is masculine. Well in English you just say "The" for everything. It's different in French.

"Puis-je aller..." =May I go... It is inversion of "je peux aller" to make it a question. Aller is not conjugated because it follows a from of pouvoir ("to be able to"). "boire" (to drink) is also in the infinitive because it follows an infinitive verb and not a subject.

When you do inversion with je peux, you need a hyphen and you don't do the contraction of je aller.

de l'eau means "some water". Remember that nouns are preceded by either un, une, de, des, le, la, les or l'. That means that whenever you see one of those before a noun, that all you have to do is look up what the word that follows means. In this case that is "eau" which means water.

it's not Puis j'aller but Puis-je aller

the translation from google is wrong, your 1st sentence means "May I drink some water" or " May I go and drink some water" - it's difficult to translate without the meaning of the all sentences.

Probably. But I'd expect even more if the high school you'll be going to is larger than the middle school you're at. I mean, since there will be more students in general. But some may mature over the summer, and maybe there will be a smaller ratio of the immature ones :)

I would suggest buying a french dictionary or revision guide. They will help with phrasing and vocab. What you have written translates too:

You could use gcse bitesize, but it's not ideal you need some sort of book if you want to learn it properly.

j'aller? are you sure it doesn't say "j'allais"? cause j'aller doesn't mean anything (well, it means "i going" which is just plain ghetto)
