how do you solve (x/ (x − 5)) ÷( x^2/ (x^2 − 25))?

Perform the division and simplify.

    (x/ (x − 5)) ÷( x^2/ (x^2 − 25))

    ((x / (x - 5))((x^2 - 25) / (x^2))

    ((x / (x - 5))((x + 5)(x - 5) / (x^2))

    (x + 5) / x

    Factoring will help

    notice (x^2 -25) is a difference of squares and becomes:

    (x-5)(x+5)

    So:

    (x/ (x − 5)) ÷( x^2/ ((x−5)(x+5)))

    (x/ (x − 5)) * ( ((x−5)(x+5))/x^2)

    (x+5)/x
