The Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year?

was awarded to Tom Brady. I am a Buccaneers fan and love that Josh Freeman was mentioned in the article but feel compelled to ask......where are all the Brady bashers now?

Congratulations Tom. GO BUCS!!!!!!!

As you can see, by those that have previously answered your question, those "haters" you speak of are still out there. One states that Cassel put up equal stats to Brady the year he had to QB the Patriots. Well, that's not even close to true. Yes, the Patriots did go 11-5, but they went 18-1 the previous year. Just look at the numbers that both put up, with the EXACT same team:

    Brady in '07: 69% completion percentage, 50 TD's to 8 INT's, QB Rating 117.2

Cassel in '08: 63% completion percentage, 21 TD's to 11 INT's, QB Rating of 89.3, also led the league in being sacked, 47 times. Of which, Cassel did go to the Pro Bowl this year, having 27 TD's to 7 INT's and a QB Rating of 93, so apparently he wasn't that bad.

Then that same person states that Vick put up better numbers this year:

    Brady: 66% completion percentage, 36 TD's to 4 INT's, QB Rating of 111.

Vick: 63% completion percentage, 21 TD's to 6 INT's, QB Rating of 100.2. He actually turned the ball over more times than Brady did, in 4 less games. Not sure how that's better.

While I too don't like Brady, in my 30 years of watching the NFL, I have never seen so many people come up with as many excuses as to why they don't think a player is good, as they do with Brady. I don't like him, but their is nothing wrong with admitting that he is currently the best QB in the league and deserved the Offensive Player of the Year.

Um, i think he don't deserve it. I think it should have gone to Vick. Vick had better stats then Brady did. Brady is pretty much in a system where, he could stay in the pocket for like 10 min and then throw the ball. Matt Cassell proven that when Brady was injuried, that he can put up the same stats that bready had with the Patriots

It's hard to dismiss a QB with a 9:1 TD:INT ratio. Brady deserves it. And the MVP, too.
