I want to start a band?
Hi, I'm 14, and I want to start a band. I have been playing bass & guitar for 5 years, and have equipment to be in a band that could gig (locally). I live in a medium sized town with plenty of people with good taste in music, but not many musicians. The only musicians here like old school metal (Metallica, Megadeath, etc) or Green Day. A few of my friends and I had a cool hardcore band (Acacia Strain, ADTR, etc) goin on but now both of them have jobs & can't practice. We sounded really good. I've posted tons of ads on craigslist, added people on facebook.. How do I find a band to stick with, or at least musicians to jam with?

Firstly, good luck!
Now, if you can't stick to a band, make yours. You can try by sticking posters on poles in your city.
i am also singing in a band and i became a member by calling at a phone number from a poster. They liked me and now i am a member of a great little band from a not very big city. You can practice in a garage but make sure you don't disturb the neighbourhood ,we once took the a fine because of the noice.
Now believe me, like Mj used to say, you are not alone. As well as you want to have a band, there are others like you which will be more than happy to join you.

Depending on what kinda music you play, I'm sure your town has plenty of local clubs, and if you just talk to the owner and give him some material, a lot of times they'll dig it (although some will inevitably turn you down) As for finding artists to jam with, just keep on what your doing and just advertise on the internet and you could post signs up around town if you wanted to.
