Will McAfee protect me with this hard drive?
I have a hard drive (Seagate FreeAgent Go) that we bought for my old computer when it was being very slow, and it started to back up files. The computer got a virus, and we unplugged the hard drive. Since then, we got a new computer. This computer has McAfee, and I was wondering if this will automatically search it and destroy viruses before they have the chance to infect this computer. Thanks.

Yes
to be sure you could plug the hard drive into your computer, let it detect it, then scan it with your antivirus
hope this helps

I have a seagate freeagent also, Mcafee does not automatically scan it. You would have to plug it in and set up a scan via mcafee.
We have no idea if you moved your files via backup or manually, if you did a full backup chances are the virus is sitting on your hard drive. if you backed up the files manually, you should know if you moved the virus over or not. Accidents happen.

Yikes spyware! Not fun at all, stay away from the free programs as though they do an ok job they don't truly protect you. If your are going to take the responisbily of buying a computer and going online then you need to get serious and protect your pc from all the threats that are on the internet. There are plenty of good paid options and the one I use is called Antivirus and Security. It provides all the protection you will need.
