Will upgrading my processor noticibly increase performance?
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a Pentium M 1.86Ghz processor and 2GB ram. The computer was bugging out, so I re-formatted it and noticed instant increase in performance. But I am noticing that when I try to stream video or download PDFs, it lags and slows down considerably. I found a 2.1Ghz processor that matches the chipset of my motherboard and considdered upgrading. Any thoughts on how this would impact performance??
I'm running XP Home on the computer, and yes, everything was installed properly...drivers, software, etc. all good.

Your new processor would have a maximum of 13% performance increase over the old one. But that would have little effect on downloading, where the speeds are not under your processor's direct control. I usually see the largest performance increases come from increasing the amount of RAM.
