Help me brighten up our snowy existence with sweet rice & mango recipe!?
I have some Thai cookbooks, but nothing about the sweet rice and mango we get at a local Thai place. I have coconut milk in a can, rice, and mango, but I'm sure there's more to it than that. Can you help me, please? I know I could look it up on the internet, but this is more fun! Stay warm everyone......

Is your rice sticky rice? Also called glutinous rice, sticky rice is a special kind of rice that you can buy at an Asian market. Other rices will still be tasty, but you won't get the same texture, and the flavor will be a little different.
Soak the sticky rice, then drain and cook it using plain water.
Separately, heat the coconut milk with a couple spoonfuls of sugar and a pinch of salt. Heat it up, stirring constantly, till the sugar is all dissolved. Pour most of it over the cooked rice and let it absorb and cool.
To serve, put a mound of the coconut milk-rice mixture in a bowl. Top with sliced mango. Pour the rest of the coconut milk mixture over it as a sauce. Enjoy!
