Stephen Fry Japan trip scrapped after A-bomb joke?

I watched the offending article not long ago (on the TV and read a topic on here) and saw how it upset many people in Japan and overseas. Good news though the BBC has scrapped his Japan trip: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12361873

Not "scrapped" but "shelved" There is a difference. Just out of interest, what's your question.

Sounds like a good reason to scrap the BBC world service....save us some money and stop upsetting the over-sensitive people of this world. We are worried about offending a nation that treated the rest of Asia like animals in the thirties and during the war - it's about time the BBC grew some balls and stopped apologising - we have free speech in the UK and a sense of humour.
