What does the new symbol mean at the top of the screen on my Android Samsung Galaxy S phone?

I recently downloaded a software or firmware update from Verizon for my Samsung Galaxy S. Ever since I did, there is a new symbol at the top of the screen. It looks like a crosshair with 3 curved lines coming out of the right side. Does anyone know what this symbol indicates? It's always on.
