I have a pair of JBL S38ii speakers and a powered JBL Subwoofer. I'd like a stereo receiver to go with these speakers. The speakers are labeled 175 watts and 8 ohms. Does this mean I need a 175 watt receiver or a 350 watt receiver (175x2)? Also looking for a turntable to go with this setup. Any recommendations on receivers or turntables that will work?

Just picked up NBA 2K13 for PS3. This is the first NBA 2k game I've played. It looks and plays great, but I'm having a hard time figuring things out. The menu system is terrible with little explanation as to what game modes mean. Game play is also pretty difficult. I've gone through the training mode tutorials and have learned many of the moves, but is there anywhere that explains other elements of game play, such as what the shot feedback indicator actually means or an explanation of the signature moves? Any help or tips for a beginner would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running on a MacBook Pro 2.8Ghz Core 2 Duo with OSX 10.6.8. I was running the MBox 2 with Pro Tools 8 LE. I've recently upgraded to ProTools 10 running a Focusrite interface but would still like to be able to take the old MBox on the go, but it's not working. When I plug it in, the green LED's light up but they seem dimmer than they should be. When I go to sound under the system preferences, I don't see MBox 2 but there are options for Avid Core Audio Device and another for Pro Tools Aggregate I/O. Selecting either of these options doesn't seem to do anything. Same thing in ProTools. Under the hardware setup section, there is no option for MBox but there is an option for ProTools aggregate. Again, selecting it doesn't do the trick.

I downloaded the most recent MBox driver on the Avid website and it didn't do anything. Does anyone have any other ideas. Does the MBox 2 simply stop working once you install ProTools 10? (That wouldn't surprise me). Or is it possibly something stupid like a bad USB cable?

I have a mobile recording rig and a PA system and I've been thinking about getting into doing weddings and parties for some extra dough. I know many DJ's use Serato for mixing and I was wondering if I need the external turntable controllers to use Serato or if just a laptop is sufficient. I'd rather not have to purchase and lug around the decks but will I need them to do weddings and events like that?

I'm starting a mobile recording business and trying to decide what microphones I'll want in my arsenal. I realize that high quality microphones will produce superior sound, but I will mostly be recording live performances on location, not in a studio. You can get great sound will more modestly priced microphones like MXL and Rode, but how important is the brand name of a microphone to artists and musicians. Will having a few Neumanns and AKG's in my stash attract more clients or a higher level of clientele? I'd love to hear opinions from musicians, engineers or anyone else in the know. Thanks!

I'm having problems when plugging my Verizon Samsung Galaxy into a MacBook Pro. I keep getting an error message that says the card can not be read. I've plugged it in many times before and it has worked without any issues. I've tried restarting both devices and erasing and reformatting the card with the phone. I also tried erasing the card through the MacBook but was also unable to do so. When I plug the phone into a PC it seems to read the card without any issues as before. Anyone know what the problem might be or how to solve it? Thanks!

I recently downloaded a software or firmware update from Verizon for my Samsung Galaxy S. Ever since I did, there is a new symbol at the top of the screen. It looks like a crosshair with 3 curved lines coming out of the right side. Does anyone know what this symbol indicates? It's always on.

I have the Samsung Galaxy (Fascinate-Verizon) and really want to play some of my old SNES games on the phone. This phone does not have a keyboard though. Only a touch screen. Will the SNesoid work? Are there onscreen controls? Will it be terrible without the keyboard? How about the other emulators (NES, Genesis)?

Been listening to Mastodon lately and I'd like to pick up another album. I already have Leviathan and Crack The Skye. Was thinking about picking up Remission or Blood Mountain. Which should I get. Out of the two I already have, I prefer the heavier Leviathan but think they're both great.
