MBox 2 not working with ProTools 10?

I'm running on a MacBook Pro 2.8Ghz Core 2 Duo with OSX 10.6.8. I was running the MBox 2 with Pro Tools 8 LE. I've recently upgraded to ProTools 10 running a Focusrite interface but would still like to be able to take the old MBox on the go, but it's not working. When I plug it in, the green LED's light up but they seem dimmer than they should be. When I go to sound under the system preferences, I don't see MBox 2 but there are options for Avid Core Audio Device and another for Pro Tools Aggregate I/O. Selecting either of these options doesn't seem to do anything. Same thing in ProTools. Under the hardware setup section, there is no option for MBox but there is an option for ProTools aggregate. Again, selecting it doesn't do the trick.

I downloaded the most recent MBox driver on the Avid website and it didn't do anything. Does anyone have any other ideas. Does the MBox 2 simply stop working once you install ProTools 10? (That wouldn't surprise me). Or is it possibly something stupid like a bad USB cable?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

YAY! Someone with the same problem as me! I have the MBOX Mini....

So with PT10.... the things they make you do now....

    1. You have to download the DRIVER of you hardware for PT10... MANUALLY.... like going to their site.... surfing for days... yeah...

    2. To retrieve your MIDI instruments.... such as STRUCTURE FREE, MINI GRAND... etc... you must MANUALLY download those as well... they will only be available if you create an account on with AVID.

But nevermind all that... to resolve your question.... I've found the link to your drivers.

Install. Restart your computer. TA DA. That should be it. OH... yeah... when you download the driver.... keep the downloaded file... you may need it again one day if PT suddenly 'can't find your hardware' again... you may have to uninstall and reinstall so keep the file in a folder in your documents somewhere.... I do. :D Hope this helps!!!

P.S: Your driver is the the 3rd choice. And remember... if it works with PT9, it should work with PT10, too. [I saw where you said you had downloaded the most recent driver... the ones I included say PT 9, but they work for 10 since they are the same interface] Toodles!!

Be sure to uninstall the old drivers. And yes... it could be your cables... If you're constantly disconnecting, moving, then reconnecting... then it could most definitely be your cables.
