Which Mastodon album should I get?
Been listening to Mastodon lately and I'd like to pick up another album. I already have Leviathan and Crack The Skye. Was thinking about picking up Remission or Blood Mountain. Which should I get. Out of the two I already have, I prefer the heavier Leviathan but think they're both great.

I've heard all of their albums cause I'm a huge fan of Mastodon and I would go with "Blood Mountain". It's actually maybe my favorite album by them.

I like Blood Mountain, although admittedly I haven't heard Remission. I think there are a few more effects in Blood Mountain than Leviathan... saying it's "less heavy" might be a relative statement, but I do find that I prefer Leviathan to Blood Mountain.
Try to find some songs off of Remission, and compare to Leviathan, I suppose....

Remission is probably the right one for you. It's by far the heaviest of all their albums. Blood Mountain is a brilliant album to, I strongly recommend getting it at some stage anyway. You can really hear them developing their own unique style that they have on Crack The Skye.

Remission is their heaviest album, Blood Mountain is slightly less heavier than Leviathan.
So, which ever you want to lean towards.

from what you have said i think you may prefer remission,my advice go on youtube or a site like
grooveshark and check out the songs and see what u prefer .
