Do you agree with Arizona/Georgia for passing more strict Anti-Immigration laws?

A new law hit the senate for debate this week on more strict immigration controls. Do you agree with the decision to force illegal immigrants to go through the process of becoming legalized Citizens of the United States? I'll give my thoughts after a few your own.

Update:

Very well spoken Kize. And I guess you hit on what I was asking, I just didn't ask properly. :D I believe whole heartedly that we should be removing illegal immigrants where they are found. Think of it as tax loss. If you think in pure statistical averages. Average per capita income was $38,589 in 2007. Average Tax revenue per capita was 2,580.04. Now, consider if you do this purely on averages and you have 1,000 illegal immigrants working for cash under the table and making the yearly average. (Now granted if you're going to work illegals for anything it's going to be either minimum wage or barely above.) but either way that's an average of 2,580,040.00 per year of lost tax revenue. Now, how many illegals are there thought to be in the country? That's alot of dough lost. There's legal ways to becoming a legal RESIDENT. Why would you support the removal of laws or policy that take money away from your government, and therefore take it away from you?

    I disagree.

They should be sent out of the country, after DNA and fingerprinting, and NEVER be allowed to be citizens, ever.

They should go through court, their sentence suspended, and they should be sent back to their home country (or go directly to jail if they refuse to do name their home country). If they return, they serve both sentences consecutively.

Their former job, neighborhood, family, friends should be investigated like with any criminal.

    Enough.

    They skip checks for:

    deadly contagious diseases

    membership in criminal organizations

    felony backgrounds

membership in organizations seeking the overthrow of the USA

    felony warrants

    illegal drugs

    illegal weapons

and we imagine these are just people looking for work?

At what cost to the rest of us?

    No more.

Great respect should be given to the brave immigrants legally seeking a new life here. They have MY respect, and always have. Show them yours.

But illegal aliens are criminals. Doesn't matter where they are from. Their acts are criminal and endanger us all.

NEITHER state has even attempted to pass ANY anti-immigration laws. I COMPLETELY support ALL states seeking to ENFORCE Federal immigration laws. Note: NO ONE supports forcing ANYONE to become a citizen. Those of us that are TRUE Americans just want to require anyone that comes into the country to do so according to the law. There are 100% legal means to become a Legal Permanent Resident with absolutely no intention of ever becoming a Citizen.

Your question has so many mistakes, I do not know where to start. Thee are not anti-immigrant laws. Illegal aliens are not immigrants. And NO ONE is forcing them to become citizens. Actually we want the opposite, we want ENFORCEMENT of the laws. And if you will take notice, many states are passing federal laws at state levels since the federal government is not doing enough to enforce the laws on illegal aliens. Virginia has been passing laws the last several years and has been making progress in detecting and apprehending illegals. Many cities have signed up for secure communities also. And it is working. There are over 12 states wanting to pass state enforcement. You would think that everyone would be glad for the extra help to remove these criminals.

    tSecure Communities

Through the Secure Communities strategy, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) improves public safety every day by transforming the way criminal aliens are identified and removed from the United States. This strategy leverages an existing information sharing capability between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to quickly and accurately identify aliens who are arrested for a crime and booked into local law enforcement custody. With this capability, the fingerprints of everyone arrested and booked are not only checked against FBI criminal history records, but they are also checked against DHS immigration records. If fingerprints match DHS records, ICE determines if immigration enforcement action is required, considering the immigration status of the alien, the severity of the crime and the alien's criminal history. Secure Communities also helps ICE maximize and prioritize its resources to ensure that the right people, processes and infrastructure are in place to accommodate the increased number of criminal aliens being identified and removed.

Secure Communities modernizes the identification and removal processes by:

    Using fingerprint-based biometric identification technology,

Prioritizing resources toward the greatest threats, and

Sharing information between law enforcement partners.

o pass state enforcement. You would think that everyone would be glad for the extra help to remove these criminals.

They aren't more strict. They are the same laws on the books right now. Arizona just decided to enforce them. That's exactly why this hasn't been overturned because there's no way to fight a state law when Federal law doesn't conflict. 10th Amendment!

Immigration is a Federal issue, not state issue. When someone wishes to immigrate to the US they do so via the federal government, not individual states.

Forcing someone, even illegals, to become citizens is wrong on so many different levels. Many people simply do not wish to become US citizens.
