Transfering music from my laptop to my HTC Desire HD handset?

I am trying to transfer my music albums from my Laptop to my Mobile Handset. I did not get a disk in the box when I purchased the phone. Do I need a disc, if not how do I transfer the tunes across please. It it using WIFI or maybe bluetooth. I am a bit of a technophobe I am afraid to say. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5920. My Handset is a HTC Desire HD. Thanks for your advice in advance.

all you have to do is plug in your usb cable, then unmount the device, then drag the music files into my music folder on the Desire HD.
