Can inter-continental relationships work?
I'm in love with an American and I'm an Englishman, do you think it could ever work? I mean culturally, we're just so different....
Does no one get irony? I was joking. Oh well, back to asking serious Q's

I guess the joke is that you think Americans and Englishmen are really so much alike that it is silly to talk about problems that might occur in such a relationship. Actually, I think there are a lot of important cultural differences that would strain the relationship.
Perhaps the irony is that you think it is a joke....

It can definitely work, you are not that different an american and an English. People from Congo have been in relationship with people from India. Any relationship that would work would depend on the feelings and the effort you both put in it. Focus on what you have in common instead of the opposite.

Um, I think it's more of the distance than the different cultures . . . And also, you need to see if she's in love with you . . . I say she because of your picture. Anyways, just try to make her feel like there's nothing else in the world but her and have her stay with you in England or vice versa. Hope this helps . . .

I'll be the first to concede I don't entirely understand irony, but this does not mean I don't enjoy this type of humor. As for your question: Only time will tell. :0)
