    I prefer Soft tackle bags.

They are much more compact and don't weigh as much as the Hard ones. Plus you can re-arrange the compartments the way you like and if you are just going somewhere and you only need acouple lures, hooks, jigs etc, you can just take the compartment out of your bag instead of tacking the hole tacklebox.

Soft, that way I can customize the individual divider boxes for what I need, that way I can tote 1 down to fish on a hard to get to spot, or I know which one to grab when I need my "Go to" baits, hard boxes let the hooks get tangled and scratch the bodies up on hard baits

I prefer soft boxes. I have seen some nice hard boxes that I liked, but most of them are a little too big and bulky for my liking. I haven't used a hard box since I was a little kid.

I have a huge umco4600 box and I prefer that to soft sided for boat fishing.

soft. because almost all of them come with a shoulder strap. keeping my hands free for the rods and the cooler. i have yet to see a plastic box with a shoulder strap.

  • I prefer a giant hard one because it feels good in my hand

hard with plastic insert options. hard is much easier for me to dig through than playing with zippers etc. I have separate spinner bags, panfish kits etc, but they all fit into my hardcase.
