Do you hear what I hear?

Sweetest Birdsong

Indeed,

The sweetest birdsong,

born at sunrise,

is often heard at midnight.

Indeed,

The sweetest birdsong,

Of remembrance,

is carried by the wind.

For-to-see,

the sweetest birdsong,

born at sunrise of remembrance…

is the sweetest birdsong

heard by midnight’s

darkest hour of need.

I loved how you wrapped this up in the final stanza, it's a winner.

Thank you for posting and sharing, wish you did it more!

    Evelyn

I have read your poem a number of times, each time I find myself standing in front of the Unknown Soldier while a bugler plays The Last Post. Your lines "born at sunrise", "Of remembrance," "born at sunrise of remembrance…" and "darkest hour of need". All point to this Day of Remembrance which is held every year.

I heard it as I read your poem through SEVERAL times.

then I followed your links and heard a different song yet the same.

    very nicely done.

You continue to amaze me with your talent!
