Why is my car starving for gas under hard acceleration?

The car is a camaro with chevy 350 mild cam, headers ect. And edelbrock performer intake and carb. When I stepped on it hard to show off to a friend, it went good, then spuddered like it was running out of gas. I'm 90% sure it's a gas shortage since I just ran out of gas last week, and it did the same thing. It's been running fine otherwise. Is there something I should adjust on the carb? Thanks.

You don't give year, but I'll try. Before messing with carb.could be fuel filter dirty especially if you ran out of gas.If electric pump in tank could have damaged when out of gas, if mechanical pump check pressure. Also could be timing problem should be 10/12 deg. BTDC. If you have distributor check vac. advance and weights inside to see if working properly. After all that checked and still have problem check float levels in carb. Hope this helps. Next time year helps.

don,t bother the carburetor until you do a couple other things like check the fuel pump and change the fuel filter. you mean it bogs down when you floor it? make sure the choke is,nt closing and flooding it out.

make sure your not sucking air from the fuel line and make sure your fuel to air mixture is correct. Also check timming, if that is correct make sure it is advancing when you hit the throttle.

Low fuel under load could mean a dirty fuel filter.
