What do I do when I've already done it?

Okay so long story short I asked this girl to a dance and got rejected. It's five days before the dance and the guy she was planning to go with (the reason I got rejected) has treated her like a complete asshole and also planned to leave her at the dance so he could go bang some other chick. The girl I wanted to ask now knows and I doubt she's gonna still go with him. So my question is what do I do? I heard from very reliable friends that she liked us both but had a history with the other guy and that's why she chose him. So should I ask again? Or what?

Only because she is dumped by some other guy doesn't mean that she won't reject you again. She rejected you because she is not into you. It's not because she wanted some other guy.

Strike up a conversation with her. During the conversation, inquire if her plans for the dance have changed and, if so, would she be interested in changing the answer she gave you.

What's the worst thing she could say? "No" again? No biggie, no sweat, don't dig it, don't fret.

After that, it's entirely up to you whether you ever ask her again or not.
