Could someone interpret this dream?

I can't usually remember my dreams, but when I do, they're strange and confusing. This one is no exception. I'll explain what I remember, in chronological order.

When it starts out, I'm working at a grocery store. I don't in waking life, but it's otherwise normal. Occasionally, my friends visit me while I work. One of them decided to bring me a ukulele. The neck was normal, but it had the body and headstock of a double bass and was purple. Some other day, I help a man find something in the store. As he leaves, he hugs me and kisses me on the cheek, saying: "Thank you, sir" (I'm female). 

Later in the dream, I'm at a party. There's a lot of food, but especially a lot of popcorn and popcorn-shaped things. At some point, the man shows up again. He's still convinced that I'm a man, and starts trying to get me to go to bed with him. I inform him that I'm a girl, so he wouldn't want me, and that I wouldn't want him, because he wasn't very good looking. Then, someone pops out of nowhere saying things like: "Oh! Gay rejection! Sex rejection!", etc. After that, I don't remember anything until waking up. 

I'm sure some of this was absolute nonsense that would prove worthless if one tried analyzing it. But if you can find any meaning in this, please let me know.

to me it sounds like youre trying to figure out what sexuality you are. and that you really enjoy popcorn.

Hey, whitenin.  I like to interpret, so I'll be glad to help.  First, dreaming of a grocery store means that some need is unfulfilled.  You need nurturance or mental stimulation.  Dreaming of a friend refers to some aspect of yourself that you were rejecting but are now ready to embrace.  Hm, the strange instruments are a bit harder...Normally, instruments and music are symbolic of pleasure and harmony.  Maybe these are the things that are being compromised or threatened in waking life?  Something is emotionally "out of tune" with you.  You could be undergoing some confusion.
Purple is the dreamese color or devotion, healing, love, kindness and compassion. 

Dreaming of a party means that you need a break from the daily grind.  Food represents knowledge.  I feel that your dream is telling you that knowledge is what you most need, as popcorn means that some type of truth is trying to come out.  The ugly man means that some aspect of yourself is ugly to you.  Dreaming of gay intimacy, not necessarily intercourse, means that you need to practice more compassion and self-acceptance. It almost sounds as if you might be going through some sort of sexual identity or just plain identity crisis. Or, maybe your subconscious id is just playing around with different scenarios! Every woman wonders at some point what it would be like to be a man and vice versa :P
